El Yucateco Hot Sauce Giveaway Featuring Caliente Frito Pie Deluxe SauceOn CollectiveBias

Disclosure: This shop and giveaway has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its Advertiser. All opinions are mine alone.
I recently discovered a new-to-me a habanero hot sauce that lets me #SauceOn to bring a burst of spicy heat to many of my favorite recipes. El YucatecoHot Sauce is made in Mexico and comes in four different spicy varieties: Red Habanero Sauce, Green Habanero Sauce, XXXtra Hot Kutbil-ik Sauce, and Black Label Reserve -- their newest flavor! Thanks to #CollectiveBias, I recently learned that all four flavors of El Yucateco hot sauce can be found in the Hispanic Foods aisle at Walmart.
If youve shied away from hot sauces made with habanero peppers in the past because you feared that theyd be TOO hot...dont! I found the El Yucateco Chile Habanero sauces very tasty. They definitely pack a fiery kick -- especially straight from the bottle -- but they also have lots of flavor. When added as a recipe ingredient, they bring a smooth heat...more of a slow burn than in-your-face fire. For example, I used the Black Label Reserve hot sauce to amp up a comfort classic: Caliente Frito Pie Deluxe. Let me show you how I took a gameday classic and gave it a grown-up twist.

Caliente Frito Pie Deluxe
a Weekend Gourmet Original
Ingredients (for one serving):
  • 1 cup Fritos corn chips
  • 3/4 cup of your favorite chili
  • El Yucateco Black Label Reserve hot sauce to taste -- I used 1/2 tsp.
  • 1/2 cup shredded colby-cheddar cheese
  • 1 green onion, sliced
  • 1/4 Roma tomato, diced
  • 1/4 avocado, diced
  • 2 tbs. sour cream mixed with 2 drops El Yucateco Black Label Reserved hot sauce
Directions:
Step 1: Preheat oven to 375. Place the corn chips in an oven-safe crock or serving bowl. Heat the chili, stir in the El Yucateco Black Label Reserve hot sauce, and pour over the chips. Top with the shredded cheddar. Bake at 375 until the cheese is melted -- about 5 minutes.
Step 2: While the cheese is melting, mix the sour cream with 2 drops El Yucateco Black Label reserve. Spoon the sour cream in the middle of the cooked Frito pie. Sprinkle the green onion, avocado, and tomatoes on top. Eat immediately, while the chips are still crunchy.
Thats it! In about 15 minutes, you can have a spicy deluxe version of plain ol Frito pie. The El Yucateco hot sauce definitely upped the spice factor of the chili, but the sour cream and avocado cooled each bite off very nicely. For those who really love their food spicy, additional El Yucateco can be sprinkled on top of their Frito pie. I enjoyed this fancier version of Frito pie much more than the traditional version I usually make. To make this dish for a crowd, simply multiply the ingredients by 4 and bake in a casserole dish.

My Favorite Workout Tunes Staying Hydrated with Crystal Light Drink Mixes PlatinumPoints CollectiveBias

Disclosure: This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone.

Ive been a fan of Crystal Light drink mixes for years! They contain no sugar, and they come in a wide variety of yummy fruit flavors. Ive always got one or two of their convenient on-the-go powdered drink mix packets in my purse...and a bottle of the liquid drops at my desk. Both varieties are great for making flavorful low calorie drinks -- especially after a workout! I recently started back at the gym, so I understand the importance of staying hydrated during and after working out. Water is the best way to stay hydrated, but sometimes the taste of plain water gets a bit...boring. Enter Crystal Light! I simply add a few drops to a bottle of water, and I get all the benefits of water...along with a burst of yummy no-calorie flavor.

Most of the time, I purchase my Crystal Light from the Drink Mixes aisle at the Walmart nearest my office. They offer a good selection of both liquid and powdered flavor packs, which I love to combine to create customized flavored waters! I especially love tropical flavors. My current post-workout favorite combines equal amounts of Tropical Coconut and Mango Passionfruit Crystal Light liquid in a 16-ounce bottle of water. Its sweetly tart, with a perfect coconut background flavor...and the vibrant orange color is gorgeous too!

All I need are some of my favorite tunes and a bottle of this Crystal Light-infused water -- and Im ready to hit the treadmill! I love tunes that make me want to move and help the 30-45 minutes on the treadmill speed by. Some of my favorite current workout tunes include the following:
  1. Love On Top: Beyonce
  2. Dance Apocalyptic: Janelle Monae
  3. Send Your Love: Sting
  4. Get Lucky: Daft Punk feat. Pharrell Williams
  5. Maps: Maroon 5
  6. Time Bomb: Kylie Minogue
  7. Love Never Felt So Good: Michael Jackson
  8. Dead Mans Party: Oingo Boingo
  9. Discotheque: U2
  10. All Thats Left: Miranda Lambert
At first glance, Miranda Lambert may not seem to fit in well with the rest of my workout playlist. All I know is that All Thats Left is a cheeky, upbeat country swing tune that really gets this Texas gal moving on the treadmill! Crystal Light is sponsoring the Miranda Lambert Platinum tour, and theyre also teaming up with Miranda to offer Platinum Points. This fun program is a fantastic way to earn rewards when you buy your favorite Crystal Light products! To get started, simply create an account with Platinum Points. After that, all you have to do is buy participating Crystal Light products at Walmart, scan your receipt, and start earning rewards points! Rewards points are redeemable for lots of great items that any Miranda Lambert fan would love!
All purchases must be made by December 31, 2014, and all receipts must be scanned and submitted by January 15, 2015. See Official Rules for details.

AD Game Day Hot Wings Bar Featuring Diablo Ranch and Cranberry Honey Mustard Dipping Sauces GameTimeHero CollectiveBias

This #GameTimeHero shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions expressed are solely mine.
Its no big secret that were huge football fans at Casa Garcia...we never miss a big game! I also love to serve a variety of tasty snacks for us to munch on while we cheer on our favorite team. However, I like to keep my game-day menu as stress-free as possible -- I dont want to miss a big play because Im in the kitchen cooking. Thanks to my convenient neighborhood Walmart Deli, I was able to purchase a Pick 3 Bucket of pre-cooked Tyson deli wings for an easy and fun game-day hot wings bar. I selected three different flavors: the sweet and spicy Boneless General Tsos, crispy Bone-in Hot Wings, and traditional Buffalo Wing flavors. All I had to do was take the ready-to-serve wings home and set them out for everyone to enjoy! Earlier in the day, I had prepared a duo of tasty dipping sauces to pair with our wings: spicy Diablo Ranch and tangy Cranberry Honey Mustard. Making the sauces ahead saved me lots of time and stress. All I had to do before kickoff was pour some sodas and open a couple of bags of chips -- and we were ready to watch some exciting playoff football.
Our team didnt make the playoffs this year, but we certainly enjoyed our game-day wing bar while watching all of the Wild Card playoff action! Let me show you how simple my duo of flavorful dipping sauces is to prepare -- and how I used brightly colored decor to create a festive mood. Youll be ready to throw a game-day hot wing fiesta of your own in time for the next big game. Because the Pick 3 Bucket has convenient inserts that keep each flavor of wings separate, you can simply serve the warm wings directly from the bucket -- no need to dirty a serving platter!
I had originally planned to include a third Asian-inspired dipping sauce, but the boneless General Tsos wings were so delicious and saucy on their own that I decided to focus on the other two sauces instead. The Diablo Ranch dipping sauce takes ordinary ranch to spicy new levels of flavor, and the Cranberry Honey Mustard is tart and tangy. Even better? Both sauces are ready to serve in less than 15 minutes!

Diablo Ranch Dipping Sauce:
  • 1/2 cup prepared ranch dressing
  • 1/2 cup medium chunky salsa
  • 1 tbs. taco seasoning mix
  • 1 tbs. dried cilantro
Combine the ranch dressing and chunky salsa in a bowl. Add the taco seasoning and cilantro. Stir well, until all the ingredients are completely incorporated. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Cranberry Honey Mustard:
  • 3/4 cup canned jellied cranberry sauce
  • 2 tbs. grainy brown mustard
  • 2 tbs. honey
  • 1 tbs. parsley
  • 1 tsp. curry powder
Add the cranberry sauce, mustard, and honey to a bowl. Use a whisk to thoroughly combine the honey and mustard with the cranberry sauce. Add the parsley and curry powder and stir to combine. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Both of these dipping sauces feature robust flavors that pair very nicely with the spiciness of the hot wings -- the flavors enhance each other without overpowering. My favorite combos were the Diablo Ranch on the Spicy Hot Wings...and the Cranberry Honey Mustard with the Buffalo Wings. Tip: be sure to include plenty of festive napkins and wet wipes so everyone is able to keep their hands clean -- thatll save you lots of time and stress on your post-game cleanup!! Now that youve seen how I paired these deli hot wings with dipping sauces...tell me what sauce YOU like to dip your hot wings in.

A MovieNight4Less with Orville Redenbachers and M Ms Featuring PB Chocolate Popcorn Wolf Pack Snack Mix CollectiveBias

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone.
One of my very favorite things to do on a chilly Fall night is stay inside and put together a creative at-home #MovieNight4Less! Its fun to pop in one of our favorite movies and enjoy some yummy movie-watching treats to munch on during the movie. One advantage to at-home movie nights is the cost savings! To help stretch your budget, Warner Brothers is making movie night more affordable by putting some of their popular DVDs and Blu Ray titles on sale at participating Walmart locations. Through November 24th, youll find a selection of $5 DVDs and $7.88 Blu Rays. Some of the titles on sale include The Shawshank Redemption, The Notebook, and one of our personal favorites: The Hangover. I recently visited my local Walmart for #CollectiveBias to pick up a copy of The Hangover so we could enjoy an adults-only quote-along movie night! The sale display was easy to locate in the stores Electronics department. Once the movie was selected, it was time to select some yummy snacks to enjoy with our movie. My personal favorite movie munchies include M&Ms® and Orville Redenbachers popcorn!
I could have simply popped up some buttery Orville Redenbachers popcorn and eaten the M&Ms® straight from the box -- but I decided to up my game a bit and create a delicious snack mix incorporating both items! My sweet and salty PB-Chocolate Popcorn "Wolf Pack" Snack Mix features two kinds of M&Ms®, Orville Redenbachers microwave popcorn, salty pretzel bites, sweetly salty honey-roasted peanuts, and a decadent chocolate-peanut butter glaze. This popcorn-based snack mix takes only a few minutes to prepare, and your personal wolf pack will go absolutely NUTS for it!

PB-Chocolate Popcorn "Wolf Pack" Snack Mix
a Weekend Gourmet Original
Ingredients:
  • 1 package Orville Redenbachers microwave popcorn
  • 2 cups bite-sized pretzels
  • 1 cup M&Ms® milk chocolate candies
  • 1 cup M&Ms® peanut butter candies
  • 3/4 cup honey-roasted peanuts
For the glaze:
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup corn syrup or honey
  • 1 tsp. dark cocoa powder
  • 2 tbs. peanut butter
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
Directions:
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 and place parchment or foil on top of a large rimmed baking sheet; set aside. Pop the popcorn in the microwave per package directions. Add the popped corn and the bite-size pretzels to a large mixing bowl. Stir well to combine.
Step 2: Make the glaze by adding the butter, sugar, brown sugar, corn syrup or honey, cocoa powder, and peanut butter to a 4-cup measuring cup or large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave until the mixture begins to boil -- about 3 minutes. Give the glaze a stir and microwave for one minute longer -- the mixture to be a full rolling boil. Immediately add the baking soda. The mixture will begin to foam, so dont panic!
Step 3: Pour the glaze evenly over the popcorn and pretzels in the mixing bowl. Work quickly to evenly coat the popcorn and pretzels with the glaze. Place the popcorn-pretzel mixture onto the reserved rimmed baking sheet in an even layer. Bake for 25-30 minutes, giving the mixture a stir every 10 minutes. Let the mixture cool completely on the baking sheet -- about 1 hour.
Step 4: Add the cooled popcorn-pretzel mixture to a large mixing bowl. Add the milk chocolate and peanut butter M&Ms® and honey-roasted peanuts. Toss well to combine and add to a towel-lined basket for easy serving.
For peanut butter and chocolate lovers, this snack mix is the ultimate movie munchie! The Orville Redenbachers popcorn pops up light and fluffy, the M&Ms® provide a punch of chocolate, and the pretzels and peanuts add just the right amount of salt! The glaze is a cross between caramel and fudge, with a nice amount of chocolate and peanut butter flavors. Add it up, and youve got one addictive little snack mix.
